LEARNING OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM

A Schools Go Skiing trip offers an exciting blend of adventure, education, and opportunities for personal growth, all within a safe, fun, and inclusive environment. We can also tailor our ski trips to include subject-related learning, such as geography-focused sessions or language immersion in French or German-speaking regions.

WHY LEARN HOW TO SKI?

A Schools Go Skiing trip is much more than “just skiing.” The student benefits are clear from every trip we’ve delivered.

Beyond the physical and mental health benefits of being active outdoors and the exhilaration of hitting the slopes, skiing fosters resilience, teamwork, and confidence while promoting a healthy and active lifestyle. Students also develop an appreciation for mountain environments and the natural world, aligning with educational sustainability goals.

SAFETY, SUPPORT & ACCREDITATION

Our Safety Management System (SMS) policy is a comprehensive document outlining the safety measures and considerations we have in place. All staff, suppliers, and ski resort partners are required to be familiar with this policy to ensure we consistently operate in line with industry best practices and meet school travel safety standards.

SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (SMS) POLICY

Our Safety Management System policy is a working document, detailing the safety considerations and measures that we’ve put into place. Our staff and partners must be familiar with this policy to ensure we continue operating at industry best practice and meet school travel safety standards.

ACCOMMODATION & SAFETY AUDITS

Our accommodation partners undergo a thorough, industry-recognised health and safety audit and must pass an in-person inspection before hosting our school groups. We follow a similar health and safety audit process for all ski schools and activity providers to ensure they meet the highest safety and suitability standards for our groups.

DESTINATION RISK ASSESSMENT PACKS

Upon confirming your booking, the travelling staff leader will receive a detailed risk assessment pack tailored to your ski trip destination. These risk assessments are crucial for managing the safety of your group, identifying potential risks, and highlighting areas for improvement to ensure a smooth and secure experience.

EMERGENCY PROCEDURES

We have clear emergency action and crisis management plans in place for all school groups on tour, with our staff receiving annual training in crisis and incident management. Alongside these contingency plans, we maintain effective communication protocols to ensure prompt contact with emergency services, school administrators, and parents if needed.

PTS MEMBERSHIP

As members of the Protected Trust Services (No. 5642), we fully comply with the Package Travel Regulations and guarantee financial protection for our customers through the PTS trust account and insurance model. All payments are securely processed and held in the Trust Account until your departure, safeguarding your payments.

ATOL PROTECTED

We hold an Air Travel Organiser’s Licence (ATOL No. 11393). The ATOL scheme provides financial protection, ensuring school groups can complete their trip and return home if the company ceases trading during the tour or receive a full refund if it happens before departure. This offers complete financial peace of mind for our school clients and customers.

Upon booking, all students and staff members will be covered under our comprehensive youth group travel insurance policy with Zurich.

We believe it is unacceptable for any child or adult to experience abuse of any kind, and we fully recognise our responsibility to safeguard the welfare of students and staff. Our child protection policy is designed to protect our groups and provides clear guidance for staff, Trip Leaders, and suppliers to ensure a safe and supportive environment.

SUPPLIER RELATIONSHIPS

We maintain a close working relationship with our suppliers, particularly our in-resort ski schools, accommodation providers, and activity partners. We hold professional contracts with all resort partners to safeguard our school customers and ensure expectations and obligations are consistently met.
