BOOK WITH PEACE OF MIND

We aim to make the planning and pre-departure process as smooth and straightforward as possible. We understand how busy teachers are and how much effort goes into organising a school trip. Find out why Schools Go Skiing is the perfect choice for your next school adventure.

WHY BOOK WITH US?

Here is why schools book with Schools Go Skiing, and come back.

FULLY INCLUSIVE

Our school ski packages are fully inclusive, with no hidden costs. The quote covers international flights, transfers, accommodation and meals, lift passes, equipment hire, lessons, evening activities, financial protection and travel insurance. Free staff places are included, and a Trip Leader stays with your group from arrival to departure.

FINANCIALLY PROTECTED

Schools Go Skiing is ATOL Protected (11393) and a member of Protected Trust Services (5642), so every payment a school makes is held in trust until the group has travelled. Each booking also carries Scheduled Airline Failure Insurance (SAFI) and Supplier Failure Insurance (SFI).

INDUSTRY-LEADING HEALTH AND SAFETY STANDARDS

We fully understand the importance of health and safety in our industry. Our commitment to safety is at the heart of everything we do, especially for our school groups on ski trips. We regularly review our Safety Management System (SMS) policy, risk assessment packs, and supplier health and safety audits to ensure the highest standards are maintained.

EXPERIENCED TRIP LEADERS

Our Trip Leaders are chosen for their skiing and their way with young people. They think on their feet, and both staff and students know they are looked after. Every Trip Leader holds a DBS check and first aid and safeguarding training, meets you on arrival and stays with your group for the whole trip.

LEARNING OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM

A Schools Go Skiing trip gives students a week of adventure and a lot of personal growth in a safe, inclusive setting. We can also build subject-led learning into the trip, such as geography sessions on the mountain or language practice in French- or German-speaking resorts.

WHY LEARN HOW TO SKI?

A Schools Go Skiing trip is about more than the skiing, and the benefits for students show on every trip we run.

Beyond the health benefits of a week outdoors and the thrill of the slopes, learning to ski builds resilience, teamwork and confidence, and gets students active. They also come home with a feel for mountain environments and the natural world, which sits well with a school’s sustainability goals.

Your Programme Manager sends a simple form to start collecting your group’s passenger details, passport information and medical details.

Step 4

We request passenger information within four weeks of booking and final passport and medical information three months before departure.

Step 5

SECOND DEPOSITS

The second deposit is due 12 weeks after the first. Both deposits are non-refundable, and the dates are set out in your booking form so parents can plan for them.

Step 6

FINAL BALANCE PAYMENT
& PASSENGER LIST

Your final balance payment and completed Air Passenger Information and Medical Form are due 12 weeks before departure.

Step 7

FINAL TRAVEL DOCUMENTS

Your Programme Manager will issue all final travel documents within a comprehensive Travel Documents Pack four weeks before departure.

HOLIDAY TIME

SKI TRIP REVIEW MEETING

After the trip we arrange a review meeting to hear how it went, what worked and what you would change, both on the trip and in the planning. Most of the changes we have made to our trips started in one of these meetings.

BOOKING TERMS & CONDITIONS

Our Booking Conditions form part of the contract for your school ski trip. They cover financial protection, insurance, changes to a booking, cancellation charges and accommodation, and are worth reading before the deposit deadline. You can view them below.

Terms and conditions

SAFETY, SUPPORT & ACCREDITATION

Our Safety Management System (SMS) policy sets out the safety measures we have in place. All staff, suppliers and ski resort partners work to it, so every trip is run to industry best practice and school travel safety standards.

SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (SMS) POLICY

Our Safety Management System policy is a working document that details the safety measures we have put in place. Our staff and partners must know it, so we keep operating to industry best practice and school travel safety standards.

ACCOMMODATION & SAFETY AUDITS

Every accommodation partner completes an industry-recognised health and safety audit and an in-person inspection before hosting a school group, and the same audit applies to every ski school and activity provider we use.

DESTINATION RISK ASSESSMENT PACKS

Once your booking is confirmed, the staff leader receives a risk assessment pack for your ski destination. It covers travel, the hotel, the slopes and each activity, so it can sit alongside the school’s own.

EMERGENCY PROCEDURES

We have emergency action and crisis management plans for every school group on tour, and our staff train in incident management every year. If something happens, the Trip Leader calls our duty officer, the duty officer calls the school, and the school tells parents, so nobody hears about it second-hand.

PTS MEMBERSHIP

As members of Protected Trust Services (No. 5642), we comply with the Package Travel Regulations and your payments are protected through the PTS trust account and insurance model. Every payment is held in the trust account until your departure.

ATOL PROTECTED

We hold an Air Travel Organiser’s Licence (ATOL No. 11393). Under the ATOL scheme, if a licence holder fails while a group is away, the group completes the trip and is flown home, and if it fails before departure, the school is refunded in full.

24-HOUR DUTY OFFICER

Our 24-hour emergency assistance line is available to all Trip Leaders and school staff members throughout their ski trip. Your Trip Duty Officer will be on hand to support your group as needed, whether during travel phases or to provide logistical or emergency assistance.

INSURANCE

We hold Tour Operator Insurance, which includes combined liability, crisis events, and professional indemnity coverage. Our public liability insurance provides cover up to £10,000,000. Upon booking, all students and staff members will be covered under our comprehensive youth group travel insurance policy with Zurich.

CHILD PROTECTION POLICY

Our child protection policy sets out how staff, Trip Leaders and suppliers behave around students, and every Trip Leader holds a DBS check and safeguarding training. We take the welfare of students and staff as our first responsibility, and schools can read the policy before booking.

SUPPLIER RELATIONSHIPS

We work closely with our suppliers, above all the ski schools, hotels and activity partners in each resort, and we hold professional contracts with every one of them so that expectations and obligations are clear on both sides.

FCDO TRAVEL ADVICE

We continuously monitor the FCDO travel advice for all our destinations and will keep you informed of any updates. If the FCDO advises against all but essential travel to your destination within two months of departure, we will arrange a meeting to discuss alternative arrangements.

ONGOING SUPPORT

When you are home from your ski trip, your Programme Manager arranges a meeting to review it. We look forward to the stories and highlights, and your feedback is what improves our service and our safety management.
